Kentucky / LSU (Video)
Big league travel with 10 seconds left when LSU retrieved the ball on the long pass.
A Kentucky player was signaling (#2). He was right. I've spent so long saying that I'm not one who nitpicks borderline travels -- is this a borderline travel? Am I crazy? |
The difficult issue for the on-court official is determining when the player controls the ball and then quickly shifting his vision to observe the footwork.
Watching the game on TV, it seemed to be a travel, but I wouldn't be certain without rewinding the DVR, so perhaps the on-court official had the same thought in not whistling. Now let's get a clip of the great decision to whack the Kentucky player for the chin-up following his dunk! |
I watched it a few times on DVR. I thought that it was close but I think that it wasn't a travel. I don't think he had control immediately and I think he released the ball on the dribble before the pivot foot was lifted .

I was watching with one eye and didn't go back.

I don't think this is a travel. By the time he actually caught it, the right foot was the pivot and the ball was released on the dribble before it lifted that foot.
|
I think that is a travel. It looks like he grabs the ball, shuffles both feet then puts the ball down. It is close though and I can see why missed.
Peace |
Even with bobble I have a travel.
|
Really tough to tell with the bobble. I'm also considered a travel "nitpicker" I guess, but I'd probably pass on this.
