NCAA: OOB or throw-in violation? (Video request)
10:46 remaining in the second half (not a close game)
Villanova has a designated spot throw-in on the endline of its backcourt. Long pass thrown near midcourt along the sideline. The ball bounces inbounds and the Nova player steps out of bounds and then touches the ball before it bounces again. Ensuing throw-in is sent back to the endline spot. Not correct for NFHS. Is the NCAA interp different or did the crew just kick this? Michael Stephens, Brian O'Connell, and Don Dailey were named as the officials be the announcers. |
As described, they kicked it -- this rule is the same.

I'm repeatedly shocked by the basic errors made by people working the TV games and the final rounds of the NCAA tournament. The guys on that crew shouldn't be kicking a simple rule. I don't expect them to be perfect, just competent. |
