Do Any States Limit Roster Size?

I now that many limit it in the post-season.

Do any limit the number of players that can dress in a regular season game?

A local school dressed about 16 or 17 and someone thought that the limit was 15.

I know (or at least I think I know) it's not a rule. Curious if any states cap it.

Not that I know of.

I have often said that if I was the coach I'd put the entire school enrollment on the list I gave to the scorer -- so I could avoid any T's for adding a team member later.

Not that I'm aware of, either. That someone might have thought the limit was 15 because most books have only 15 lines, but the number of lines doesn't define any kind of limit. Lines can get split, or you can use a separate page.

I think the most I've ever seen in a book is 18 or 19.

Assuming a normal sized school, there's bound to be some duplicate numbers in there. So you'll get a T one way or the other.

(I'm not sure why I answered this semi-seriously. :p)

This was going to be my answer too. After this, you start having to duplicate numbers.

Yep, I failed to count 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50. You are correct.

Or start using illegal numbers. Sure, there would be a T if an illegal number reported to check in, but I suppose thousands could be listed.

Wouldn't it be cool to come to the game and see a player wearing the infinity symbol on his jersey? :)

My daughter plays on a 4th grade team. One player has jersey #9 -- it's the only illegal number on the team.

Of course I mention that to my wife every time they play.

Yes, I do it on purpose just for the predictable reaction I get.
