Nebraska at Wisconsin (Video)

At 6:02 in first half on the clock there was a block/charge call where a Neb player was driving on in the middle of the lane there was a call made with both the Lead and the Center trying to signal. They made eye contact and the Lead called a block. Honestly I thought it was a charge, but that is why I am asking for video.

Peace

Watching that game live myself, announcers seemed to be sold on a block, "no question" I heard one say, but I thought it was pretty close

Second replay request.

Also there is a T right before the half on the head coach of Nebraska. He seemed to be complaining about a call and got a T. I would like to see the play in question and the T replay if possible. About 2.1 on the clock when that took place.

Peace

Looked like a charge from my bar stool tonight after our game. :D

Charge for me. Surprised Bo Ryan didn't get whacked for his reaction.

Saw it too. Coach must have been chewing on the official pretty good, he was right there. Or of course, he said a "magic word."

Actually, the other whistle came from the very low trail official.

Looks like a charge on the live action, but when they show the replay you can see the defender still moving sideways and I can understand the block call.

It is legal to move sideways. And I do not recall that the shooter was airborne.

Peace

I'd like to see officials stop thinking it's illegal to move laterally and still maintain LGP. No hope for the coaches, though.

Play 1: Charge. Tech on Bo if you call a block though.

Play 2: Not enough information. Doesn't look good though.

#1. You might argue for a no-call if you felt the defender embellished (I don't) but there is nothing whatsoever in that play that makes it block if the rules are properly applied. That is a charge or nothing.

#2. The only thing I think he could be complaining about is the travel. I could be an all-star if I was allowed to travel like that. it was pretty egregiious. The shooter had stopped his dribble, jumped off of his right foot, landed on his right foot, followed by his left foot, then lifted the right foot and stepped with it again before shooting. Even if you judge that the right-left came down together, he still doesn't get to pivot again as he did. I wouldn't think that would be worth getting a T over, however. Was there something else he might have been complaining about?

I think the head coach is not arguing about any potential travel but rather he feels there was a push off with the forearm by the offensive player...at least that's what I see as evidence by what looks like a push off signal by the coach.

I guess I could see that but it really wasn't that much. I've seen a lot more let go, and didn't even notice it until you mentioned it. Hardly enough to complain so much that it draws a T.

1) proper mechanics, but wrong call. Defender had LGP.

2) Not sure ehat we are debating.
