Visitors scorebook not correct to begin game
In a varsity high school game last night, the visiting team's scorebook failed to list their player's numbers. Names were in their book, but no numbers. However, the home book (official book) had names and numbers listed for both teams. Referee advised visiting team that they would be issued a team technical to begin the game. Is this correct?

No, it isn't. The visitors are not even required to have a book.

could this be a local requirement? ... I can't think of any other reason why an official would do this.

I cannot believe that this would be a local requirement, not even in the Third World (baseball umpires always talke about Third World plays). MTD, Sr. |
