Foul and violation on FT

Situation in Boys JV ball last night.

Team B is shooting the second of two FTs. On one side of the lane B2 pushes A2 on the rebound. On the other side of the lane A1 comes in early. Shot was good.

Since the shot went in we only had to worry about the foul. Basket good, report foul and go. My question is what would have happened if the FT was not successful?

9.1.3 situation I is the closest scenario I could find.

This must have been A1 coming in early, followed by a B2 fouling, right?

So, if the try was not good, B1 gets a replacement FT for the violation, with no one on the line. Then deal with B2's foul (FTs or a throw-in for A)

Correct. A was in early. B fouled on the potential rebound. Your answer is what my partner and I discussed after the game. Thanks

The lane violation by the defense does NOT make the ball dead. This is a delayed violation. Therefore, the foul by the offensive player is during a live ball and gets penalized.

However, had the FT violation been by the offense, then the ball becomes dead immediately and contact is ignored unless deemed intentional or flagrant.

Also, in OP's scenario, A's throw-in will still be from anywhere along the end line because B scored a goal. The common foul by B2 in the lane does not take away that privilege from A.
