Most schools around here play 6 minute quarters for sub-varsity. Although, one conference had a weird policy for JV games when I was in school. 1st and 3rd quarters were 6 minutes, 2nd and 4th were 7 minutes (or maybe vice versa).

Most JV games around here are played before varsity doubleheaders, so we play 6-minute quarters for those games.
