Video request: South Dakota at Creighton 21.8 left in regulation

Block/Charge call worthy of some discussion.

I think it helps our video gurus if you give them a network.

biggravy Thu Dec 11, 2014 04:02pm

Did not know that. Fox Sports. Midwest I think... Thanks!

For the record, I don't need to know the network the games are on, just the two teams and times for the plays. I don't know about the other video "gurus" around though...

I've got a charge but you'll see this play called a block almost every time.

Another charge incorrectly called.

Smitty Fri Dec 12, 2014 08:02am

Looked like a charge until the last replay - then it looked like a great block call. Not sure how you call this a charge.

Did the defender establish LGP?

The defender moved into the dribbler. He was not legal when the contact occurred.

I'm not seeing that, I see lateral movement to maintain initial LGP.

I see the same thing. I have him moving forward with his left leg/knee.

I agree. Block

Rob1968 Fri Dec 12, 2014 11:19am

The slight flexing of his knee, as he moves laterally, is inherent in normal movement. I see the contact coming on the torso of the defender, not the knee, and would call this a charge/PC. JMHO

I am in the block camp here especially with the last angle.

mutantducky Fri Dec 12, 2014 01:03pm

charge. seemed everything the defender did was normal but again that is a tough call.
