VT vs PSU - 1 and 1 or not? VIDEO
Here's a situation where it appears only ONE player on BOTH teams realizes the situation......
On the second, wide angle view, notice the officials reaction. It's easy to see the L and T's reaction, and the C holds his hands up later indicating one and one. Kinda bizarre. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-...030152074.html |
seems to me the L official steps in to administer what he believes to me another FT:eek:

Isn't the official administering the first throw supposed to indicate whether it is one, one-and-one, or two shots? If that official signals two, and it was supposed to be one-and-one, does the ball become live (because it was supposed to be one-and-one) or go to a possession arrow (becasue the official told the players it would be dead)?

Fed Case Book 8.6.1 deals with erroneous info given by the official(s), and says that if either team is placed at a disadvantage, because of the erroneous info, the ball should be blown dead, immediately, and an AP throw-in be awarded.
Now, if the official's info was correct, and only one player from either team was paying attention, well, I'm not sure you can fix that . . . |
I'd like to see the play that preceded this.
Ninja edit: I watched the play. It was a rebounding foul, no tap, should have been 1 and 1. Almost guarantee the Lead screwed this up by telling everyone two shots. |
Well we can definitely hear the announcer in the background announce 1 and 1.
