The Sixers won the opening tip, and Henry Sims was fouled and getting ready to take a free throw when referee Zach Zarba stopped the game. After a brief conference, it was determined both teams should be going in the opposite directions.

The foul was wiped off, the clock was reset and a second jump ball was held to restart the game.

I like NFHS's rule better: Switch ends and play on.

Anyone ever have this?

Yes. I had this happen to me about 12 years ago at the start of a Championship game in the Ohio Special Olympics. I was the R in a 3-person crew and none of us caught it until about 10 seconds into the game before anything else had happened.
