Dallas Mavericks vs Chicago Bulls (Video)

No call on the play but for NFHS purposes ,I believe Chicago player had legal guarding position. Both feet on the floor facing opponent.

4th quarter 5:28. #25 Dallas player fakes going up for the 3 point shot. Chicago defender goes for fake and is in the air but lands close to #25. #25 then leans forward to draw a foul on the shot after the Chicago player clearly landed with both feet on the floor before shot attempt. Leaning into the Chicago player causes him to go back.

I have a PC on #25 if it was a high school game.

I have to see how much of an advantage the bolded action caused.

Good no call, imo. The contact by the offense did not allow him to get off a clean shot, and the defender wasn't put at a disadvantage (knocked down, for example).

Most definitely not an offensive foul.

I don't think the defender regained legal guarding position because I don't think he was facing the defender when both feet were on the floor. That said, I like the no call more than either a PC or a block/push.

The official in question used to post here, so he must have gotten the call right.

Defender was still moving forward at the time of contact, so I couldn't have a PC but I don't think I'd call a block either since the actions of the offense are what put the offensive player at a disadvantage, not the contact from the defender.
