Tights vs Headbands

Supposed to go over the new rules with our local association this weekend. The only one I have even the slightest confusion about in my mind is the sleeves/tights and whether they have to be the same color as sweatbands and headbands. Example:

A5 is wearing black tights, and a white headband and wristband

Legal? Or do the headband/wristband colors have to be the same as his/her tights?

arm sleeves = leg sleeves = tights = tshirts.

headbands = wrist bands

arm and leg covering <> bands

(Unless, of course, your state has adopted something different)

Tights / bands

Legal.

The Sleeves (arm and leg) have their own restrictions and the bands (wrist and head) have their own. They are independent. 3-5-3c and 3-5-4a

Connecticut Only: Head and wrist bands, along with knee and arm sleeves, must all be the same color (white, black, beige, or color of jersey).

T-shirts? T-shirts (undershirts) have to be the same color as the jersey. There's no other choice. Period.

Sleeves don't have to be the same color as the jersey, they can be the same color as the jersey (and the undershirt), but they can also be white, beige, or black (colors possibly different than color of the jersey (and the undershirt).

Of course, in the case of a white home jersey, or a black road jersey, bob's statement may be true in many situations, and in those situations, always listen to bob.

T-Shirts and Compression shorts have to match the Jersey that is worn.
What is the difference between Compression Shorts and Tights? That is a slippery slope.

Compression shorts can not extend below the knee, while tights can. And while tights can be black, beige, white, or a single team color, compression shorts must be a single, solid, color similar to the predominant color of the uniform.

Pennsylvania

Just was told Pennsylvania will enforce that all be the Same color

JRutledge Mon Nov 10, 2014 01:41pm

Oh the humanity. You mean to tell me there are places that do what they want to do and not in the rulebook? I think we should have an investigation. ;)

Peace

That would be nice...

And isn't the rule (don't have my books with me) that compression shorts can't extend below the uniform shorts?

No... undergarments can't extend below the pants/skirt (I take it that means uniform shorts). I don't believe undergarments and compression shorts are the same thing.

The compression short rule says they have to be above the knee. The undergarment statement you cited, they can't extend below the pants/skirt, is in the same section as compression shorts. Compression shorts are worn under....

Tights are worn under....but they are included with sleeves....

At some point they will get rid of the compression shorts section... They just haven't gotten around to it....

Yeah, it's confusing as hell... that's for sure.

However, there is a distinction, and I don't have a problem with it. IMO, compression shorts should be the same color as the shorts. Not that I care enough to get upset if they were treated like tights.
