Just because someone hired by the entertainment league office is sloppy with terminology doesn't mean that we should be.

I don't see any bases at the corners of the court.

Normally, I would agree with using specific terminology. But, "base" or "baseline" is also used in the context of geometry to describe the bottom side of a rectangle...which the court is.

And even without using geometric terminology, the difference between endline and baseline is a distinction without a difference. That is quite unlike the other terminology issues such as "reach", "over the back", "set", etc....each of which imply things different and contrary to the actual rules.

Baseline/Endline, who cares.

Newsflash: Refs and players/coaches use different terminology and colloquialisms.

Dallas Shirley says........

Another camp story....back in 1991 at George Tolliver's camp, an official was scolded by Dallas for saying "baseline". He swore the term was not in the rule book. Everyone that weekend had to use the term endline.

Dallas Shirley is now in the Hall of Fame and well I am relegated to the following....

1 ) Watching Jeremy's racing clips

2 ) Hearing about a corner of Conn. where someone wears a belt

3 ) Possibly having to work with BNR in two weekends !!!!

If Dallas says it is an endline that will work for me !!!!!

I, for one, would like to see a lot more of Jeremy's racing clips.
