Obviously the league office can review and comment on anything they want, but it's not always their choice to do that.

If that is the case, that is a flawed system. Of course teams are going to want review of "negative" plays. But you cannot keep telling the public how good these guys are and never show the plays they get right to the public. Not everything has to be public IMO.

Peace

Mark Cuban of Dallas Mavericks applauds NBA's better transparancy - ESPN Dallas

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban agrees

Quote:
At this point, Cuban suggests the league should take the transparency a step further by making public statements when referees get controversial, critical calls right.

"I'd also like to see the correct ones that are mentioned as well," Cuban said. "With transparency, you get rid of all of the conspiracy theories. That's the whole goal. You want to send the message that we get them right, too, because we do."

Wondering who specifically in the league office review process decides what is the correct decision on these plays. Is the person an ex-official, ex-coach, ???
Is there a panel of people who conduct the review and vote or have to come to a consensus?
Seems that the league statement is no more than the expression of another person's opinion. So what would make it otherwise? If the officials from the game are part of the process and admit that something was missed or judged incorrectly, then that would actually be meaningful.

Does it matter who it is? Whomever it is has the authority to make such judgement and set officiating policy in the NBA. If your boss says you did something wrong and corrects you as to his/her expectation, does it matter how you think you should do things?
