Foul. The sideline view shows the contact occurred prior to the pivot foot coming back down. They kept showing the replay via the baseline view last night and Doris was pretty adamant it should have been a travel. From that view, it looked like it, but sideline shows the contact prior to the travel. Would have been more interesting had she made the shot. :)

Foul occurs before the travel.

Contact occurs before travel. I think she would have traveled on her own.

Foul. Contact helped cause the travel.
Peace |
Contact caused the travel and the C and L both got it. Doris Burke is wrong...again. Listening to her commentate gives the impression that she knows the rules better than she actually does. She knows them more than some other commentators, but on these two foul situations she complained about, she's wrong by a longshot.

Agree...foul before travel.
|
Only two things that bother me during the month of march....Doris Burke and Doug Gottlieb.....
BTW - Foul |
There was a loose ball earlier in the game where a foul was called and she commented how everyone has a right to a loose ball........but the girl plowed into the other girl. Commentators are funny, they should have to officiate a year or two more so than coaches.

1 - I think that with the benefit of super slow motion replays from a variety of angles I've got a travel before the contact/ enough contact to be more then incedental.
2 - In real time trying to jusge impending contact and evaluate the level, I'm probably not as glued into the feet. Based on the amount of contact there ended up being and the fact that I wasn't sure on footwork until I got both angles means I'm going foul in game and afterwards looking at tape admitting the tape shows something a little different. |

When I watched the play live, i.e., the first angle, my first thought was 'Whoa...it looks like she shuffled there." Your thoughts in point #2 were my thought process as well. Not saying I'd be kicking myself for calling the foul but it was pretty close. |
