Why is Payne for mich state allowed to taunt and yell in the face of Virginia players every time he dunks....has anyone else noticed this...I understand you don't want a technical for something like that in this big a game but a warning or tell him to stop?

At least they are calling every tenth foul committed....

That might be the worst no-call I've seen in a while.

I actually thought this crew did a nice job.....Brian O'Connell does a great job of staying out of the game.....

I agree, for the most part. But that no-call was a big miss, IMO. Especially at that juncture of the game.

Are you guys gonna post a time on these plays so others can know where they are?

Push off was in the last :30 I believe, throw-in in MSU's backcourt, right in front of Virginia's bench.

Play 1: Unsporting technical

Play 2: TC

First play: definitely worth a warning if it keeps happening - but a T on this play probably eliminates any other BS.

Second play: T might have been stacked on that play - but C couldn't have a better view. New L probably has a view but is nowhere near enough to have a whistle.

The problem is he did that same thing 3 times that game..the taunting...nothing ever was said as far as I could see

Did he push off? Yes. But it was to free himself. Defender was holding him first. Had his arm wrapped around his back.

At no point do I see the defender's arm "wrapped".

They are in close quarters, but there's no hold there.

Look at the 24-25 second mark. Arm wraps around, hand on the back, almost touching the number.

Arms from both players come together at the moment of the push off. Offensive foul.

If the "hold" is so bad - call the hold.

This game reminded me of a private conversation I had this winter in a High School gym while working a game...

Veteran official "observing" my game: "Are they paying your partner?"
Me: "Sure, why wouldn't they?"
Vet: "He hasn't made a call other than OOB all night."

Agreed, call the hold and we don't have to worry about the push.

I would get him for taunting or talk to him at some point. Honestly, no one knows if he was talked to unless you were in the arena watching the game and saw the official step to that player or talk to a coach. And even then it would be hard to know for sure if he was warned.

The second play both players have their arms on each other. And yes the Virginia player has his arms around the waist of the MSU player, but I see no restriction. I would have called the push off more likely.
