Checking the Clock

All of this checking the clock at the end of the game is driving me nuts. We already have 150 timeouts a game and now we have extra ones checking the clock down to the 10th of a second.

I do give Roy Williams a ton of credit for just shaking Hoiberg's hand after the explanation that the game was over. Of course, it took forever to get to that spot since the review seemed to go on for eternity.

There has to be a better way, doesn't there?

I believe this year's tournament will lead to the NCAA getting through the red tape and getting PTS for the tournament.

Roy handled it great, class act! A lot better than Xavier's Chris Mack

Since I am not 100% familar with PTS...Those are the devices that the officials have during the regular season that controls the game clock and shot clock? or game clock only? Does the clock operator have any involvement during the regular season since the officals can start the clock?

In the NCAA Tourney, all clock functions handled by the table?

Thanks!

I've never used the system but I believe hitting the switch causes both the game and shot clock to run. It is up to the shot clock operator to do the resets and recalls of the clock. I know the NBA PTS systems also have a switch at the table that the game clock guy uses in addition to the officials. The NBA PTS system also records every clock stop, who stopped the clock, and who started the clock.
