Problems with fouls/video review

Did anyone see the the end of New Mexico and Stanford? Rebound, Stanford fouls NM player ball goes out of bounds, and official gives ball to NM. They then go to video and reverse the call. I understand the part of giving the ball to NM, but they do get hosed in this situation.

That's a very tough foul to see in real-time and so close to the Lead. I would have liked them to be able to call a common foul there, because the foul caused to ball to go OOB.

They won't ever allow them to go to video and retroactively call a foul, I don't think. I know they do for FF though.

In the NBA they can call a technical for dead ball contact on an OOB review like this. APG can explain better.

That wasn't dead ball contact though.

Excuse me, I meant a technical for live ball contact. This applies when they are reviewing something else and see an uncalled foul.
