Book T in College Game

Anyone ever have a book technical foul in a college game? One happened tonight in the Mountain West Tournament game between Boise State and Nevada.

No. But it was almost 20 years ago in a women's JC game. A friend of mine was officiating his first college game and I went to watch him. And while the TF was correct, his partner made an unnecessary spectacle of it. One of the teams had left a name out of the Scorebook. When game time came, instead of just putting a shooter on the line to shoot the FTs, she made the teams lineup at center court for a jump ball and then blew her whistle to announce the TF. It just made me cringe.

Post Not a book T but...

UConn @ Rutgers men's game started this year with a T for a pre-game dunk.

When I was my college's team manager, we had a guy disciplined and he missed at least one game, if not more.

The next game he was eligible for was the first game of a weekend tournament. Me, doing what I normally did, simply carried forward the roster from the previous game, not remembering this player was not in the book. So, when he enters the current as a participant, he's in neither my score book nor the official score book, resulting in an admin T.

The worst part was that a high school classmate played for the opposing team in that game. For a number of years after that, he never let me live down this moment and the fact his team won. Thankfully, the T didn't affect the outcome.

I had a college game where the visiting team left someone off the roster. Understandable considering they arrived late because one of their players was arrested when they arrived in town for an outstanding warrant.
