IU/Mich Video Request (ESPN)
At 7:54 of 2nd half, IU5 is called for charging after losing the ball. I have the defender still sliding into position after upward motion and after IU5 is airborne.
Thanks. |

Block all day

Block. Regardless of rule set (NCAA/NFHS). I wonder if the C refereed the defense on this play.
|
Block. I didn't question it when I saw it live and certainly don't now.

This is "Exhibit A" for the argument that it is ALWAYS easier to officiate a play coming towards you rather than away from you. With very few exceptions, a block/charge play is MUCH easier for the Lead to officiate when a secondary defender is involved.
IMHO, the C saw the result of the play rather than the defenders' statuses when the offensive player left the floor. |
