Fan ejection

Anybody have a back story as to why Teddy V had a fan removed at Auburn tonight. I've only seen a YouTube video. The ESPN recap made no mention of it.

Interestingly, it doesn't look like it was unexpected by the person asked to depart. No sitting there quietly. No protest. No demonstration. Just get up and leave and receive a short handshake form someone sitting close by!

From ESPN:

Wednesday's SEC matchup between Auburn and South Carolina was marred by a total of 53 fouls, including eight straight against Auburn to start the second half. But the action was not limited to the court.

Michael Hardin, a 41-year-old three-year baseline season ticket holder, was ejected by referee Ted Valentine early in the second half, the Montgomery Advertiser reported.

"I don't use profanity or anything like that," Hardin told the Advertiser. "Everybody was pretty frustrated and yelling at him the whole time anyway. It was just kind of my time I guess and I told him 'you got to blow your whistle [against South Carolina].' He didn't like that."

Hardin, who did not leave the arena, told the Advertiser there was "no kind of altercation" with Valentine, and when he was ejected he was seated in his courtside seat. He also said security personnel did not speak to him.

They way Teddy reacted, I figured there had to be some kind of racial remark.
That's not the case according to the last post.
I'm puzzled.

Players Play, Coaches Coach, Officials Officiate, And Fans Fan ...

High school officials need to be careful about doing this. I suggest that we don't personally confront the fan, but, rather, just tell the site manager to have him ejected.

Then again, When in Rome ..., and every situation is a little different than other similar situations. Sometimes you just do what you have to do, just be careful out there.

To be fair, I think this is what TV is doing - he's not looking at the fan, he's looking at security (and there are security plans in these places, so lower-level security knows to look for and follow instructions from officials). It appears to me as though he's looking to security, indicating the fan, and saying "get him outta here."
