Yes, the defender can move, but he has to stay in the path 100% of the time, I don't feel he did.

[QUOTE=JetMetFan;924146]On #1 I have a PC. B1 attained LGP as A1 was crossing the division line and I didn't see anything to indicate he lost LGP after that. The forearm didn't help A1's cause.

Agreed. It appears it was good defense by the UMass defender. Your correct about the off-arm also. One of those judgement calls. jmho

I think PC. Looks to me that the defender got to his path and the offensive player didn't get his head past the shoulders of the defense, leading me to the conclusion the defense stayed in the path.

I think he started his upward motion.

Yes the rules change has a lot to do with this play as now pretty much everything is now defaulted to a block.

Sure, he started it before contact, but I don't think he started it before the defender was in position.

This play has nothing to do with any upward motion as the player never even ended his dribble.

I was at the game in person. The officials were horrendous all game, the error at 0:20 was just the culmination of that.

I have PC on the first play.

The second play would have been avoidable if they would have called the VCU player who ended up getting fouled for a hold to begin with. He has his left arm wrapped around the UMass player's waist as the ball is being thrown in. Still, that is a major SNAFU.

Nor is it a secondary defender.

Sending this one up north. PC.

Second play is the one they should be concerned about, messing up rules is not an option.

Thanks for the technical breakdown of the officiating.
