North Carolina vs. Duke

Anyone else see the charge play at 16:27 first half?

Edit: 12:37 first half -- why we shouldn't call across the lane as lead

Edit 2: 11:30 first half -- close block/goaltending call

Edit 3: 7:46 first half -- close block/charge play

Edit 4: 6:22 first half -- what did the defender do wrong??

Edit 5: 8:10 second half -- official trying to claim verticality?

Why in the heck did they rush the court?

Peace

Who cares why they rushed the court? Do we have an off topic forum? Take this debate there!

It's Duke vs. UNC?

It's the first time since 1990 that an unranked UNC team beat a Top 5 Duke team?

College basketball fans don't really need a reason to rush the court anymore?

Ugh, agreed. So mighty North Carolina has declared itself no longer an elite program, but rather one that rushes the court for a regular season, conference win? Embarrassing.

They're (mostly) 20 year old kids. Hardly the most embarrassing thing fans have done this year.

Every year I get older, and these dang kids stay the same age. Worse things do and have happened during the games (i.e. fights, and altercations involving fans). At the end of the day I expect 20 year olds to act like 20 year olds (having fun!!)

The jinx is alive and well

I knew the Devils were in trouble when my Sports Illustrated came yesterday with Coach K and Jabari Parker on the cover:rolleyes:

It's UNC vs. Duke, that's enough of a reason to rush the court.

JRutledge Fri Feb 21, 2014 04:57pm

Duke does not rush the court, no matter who they beat.

1-3

1) exaggeration by defender, but still a PC

2) that wasn't across the lane. I was right I the middle, inside the RA. Defender did not stay vertical while airborne

3) probably a goaltend, but it took me too many replays to figure it out, so I'm not criticizing the no-call.

Raymond Fri Feb 21, 2014 09:26pm

4-6

4) Upward motion play, John Adams wants this called a block, as it was.

5) defender did nothing wrong, should have been a no-call

6) defender hits shooters arm, should have been a call

Pat Driscoll called this on #5, who is across the lane from him. Problem is #5 never touched the shooter. Thus, don't call across the lane. Referee your defender, #1 in this case, who did foul the shooter.
