Kansas at Kansas St.
Why did the officials blow the whistle with 0.1 on the clock at the end of regulation and then simply proceed to overtime?
|
What action was going on at the time?

Also.....was the rebound putback by Wiggins a legal play? Drove to basket, missed layup and his momentum carried him OOB. He came back in and rebounded (first to touch after being OOB) and scored. Heck of an athletic play but was it legal?

There are no "first to touch" restrictions for players coming inbounds, except on throw-ins. You know a Blue Raider joined the ranks of the NBA officials this season? He used to post here. |

Are you sure it was the game clock and not the electronic representation of the game clock you were looking at?
|
It was an inadvertent whistle. Officials huddled, and decided to wipe away the last 0.1 seconds and go to overtime. Just think if the 60-footer had gone in though...they would have had to cancel it with the whistle.

Were you present at the game? Did you speak with the officials? Btw the point of my original post was that the rules don't permit the officials to just ignore any time remaining following the whistle. |
