As a freshmen in H.S. I played in a 4OT game. Obviously, this was in the "Ancient Days" when "real" basketball was played: No AP or 3pt FG.

We were playing our league rivals at home and had a 7 point lead with 13 seconds left to play in the 4th QT. Yes you read that correctly: a 7 point lead with 13 seconds left to play in the 4th QT.

We went on to win the game, win the league regular season championship, and the league's post-season tournament championship (beating the aforementioned opponent in the championship game; we played them three times and beat them all three times).

Thanks. Based on the replies I was thinking rule number one was use a Fox 40 whistle, but the actual rule is much better!

Where I'm at in the varsity games we work our first rule is if your the lead and call 3 seconds your buying the beer all night!! One guy liikes to say if you can't get an offensive player out of the paint then you don't belong working varsity games.
