For our video gurus, this sequence will be found starting at the 17:57 mark of the 2nd half. Definitely a travel. Definitely a coach out of his box reacting to a play.

I am not convinced the first one is a foul and can see why it was not called.
The second play the issue is when did the gather take place. I think a case can easily be made that the gather did not start until in the air and the left foot had already been off the floor. Peace

Endline angle shows the foul in the first one.
The second is a clear travel as the left foot is definitely on the floor when the dribble has ended. This pivot foot then comes back down following a step with the right before the try is released. It does happen at high speed though in the live action. Easy call with slo-mo and freeze frame. Just don't get to officiate that way! Someone can post some still pics for others to confirm this. |

First play I'm okay with no call.
Second play is a travel, even on the first day of the 9 & 10 year old league. Ball is resting in his hand before the left foot comes down the first time.

The immediate whistle after the play in question was to assess the technical foul.

The second is an obvious travel, at full speed or slow-mo. I can pause it at 0:23 and see the ball gathered with the left foot off the ground...before he puts it down! (for the first of two times after the gather)

On the first video, I'm seeing the same thing as Nevada. B11 comes in with significant body contact displacing the airborne A10 and affecting the release of his shot. What is everyone else seeing to tell you this is a no call?

The ball was 2 feet right of the goal for a reason.

Put yourself in the position of the new Lead running in transition; it has been ingrained by my supervisors to "officiate the defense" on plays to the rim to check for a potential RA or if the defender obtains LGP.
I can totally understand why this play could be missed if the official is observing the defensive player. |
