On the equipment/uniforms topic:
I had a girls JV/V doubleheader on Monday. Before the JV game started, we noticed that two of the home players had white tape on at least one ear. I asked if they had earrings in, and they said they did. I told them if they were going to play they would need to remove them. They did, but told us that they had played all year with the tape on and the coach said at least one official had told them that it was fine in the JV game but not in the varsity game. I told him that they were wrong if they told him that and that they should have done the same thing we did, and he agreed. I don't know why guys won't just take care of this stuff so others don't have to deal with it later. Last edited by zm1283; Wed Jan 22, 2014 at 01:24pm. |

Yes...by rule he should have been.
The "player" was technically bench personnel...it was right before the jump ball to start the game...I was 99.9% sure he was bench personnel...but, not 100%. I have since checked the book and also put a like scenario on this forum...so I own this rule now. ![]() Note: The Coach probably wouldn't have been ejected...because after the indirect and the direct...I would have made it clear he would be gone if his AC didn't sit down.
