Didn't basketballs have laces on them back when you first took up officiating? :D
I seem to recall my father telling me stories from his youth about that. :cool:

During each jump ball, and there were several of them in each game, we had to be sure to keep the laces on the top of the ball on the toss. Am I right Mark T. DeNucci, Sr.?
