From what I could see, she started her dribble before she stood up.

Indianaref Wed Dec 18, 2013 01:52pm

Yes, started dribble before she got up, no travel. Not rewarded with a great move.

I agree, no travel.

"No! No! C'mon! Unbelievable!"

Rich1 Wed Dec 18, 2013 02:28pm

Maybe the ref though she was lying on her stomach (on top of the ball) and then raised up on her knees. A player is allowed to sit up if lying on their back but can't go from their stomach to their knees. It was at that point that she started to dribble so I could see what he was thinking.

That said, I don't think I would have called it as it looks to me like she gets to her knees before grasping the ball and then dribbles before standing.

I agree, no call.

Nice commentary by the announcer too.

What do they call that second violation on NFL Sundays? A make-up call? ;)

That was the best part.

...

She was on top of the ball, so she was never lying on stomach. I have her dribbling before she gets up.

Lying on top of the ball is not holding the ball...which is needed in the first place.

Camron Rust Wed Dec 18, 2013 11:47pm

Legal as far as I can tell.

ref3808 Thu Dec 19, 2013 10:46am

Agree, from the angle we have it looks as though she started her dribble in time.

#olderthanilook Thu Dec 19, 2013 10:53am

She started her dribble before attempting to stand up.

No traveling violation.

BryanV21 Thu Dec 19, 2013 12:03pm

1. She didn't control the ball until she was on her knees.

2. She started her dribble before standing up.

Therefore, it's all good.

refiator Sat Dec 21, 2013 02:23am

Blown call.
