Vid request Charlotte and Michigan final sequence (Clip Added)

It looks like to me that both lay ups, the first that missed and the second that went in that yellow 4 and 11 both grab shooters arms. From a game management standpoint, why would you let this go or not? Especially the first grab was clearly a foul but was not called. What are your thoughts?

And guess what else it is. That's right. A travel. They're everywhere.

I've got nothing on these. The defender touched his arm after the shot was away. That is incidental.

Agreed.

I think the last 2 or 3 times Michigan drove there were travels.

Why am I not surprised someone mentioned a travel.

BTW, I think there was nothing to call on this last play.

Peace

Because, like it or not, he did

I can live with the no-call on the initial shot though it wouldn't have surprised me if there had been a whistle. If it had been a no-call the entire game that would've been a lousy spot to have a foul.

I saw the travel on this. Not sure I would have seen it from the floor, but on video it jumped out at me.

As for the contact, all incidental.

I felt like it was a travel watching it live. I'm not convinced that many of us would have picked it up live though on the court.

Yes, it was indeed a travel. But, like you, not sure how many would catch it live. I don't think I would have. Some non-basketball officials might even argue that it wasn't even a travel at all.

Funny, certain people didn't mention the travels missed in the Georgia high school video, in which all the games were from the state tournament.

Which tells me that they somehow think the bigger guys miss these plays on purpose and the self-righteous high school guys are pure to the game and just miss the calls. They will not admit that fact, but it seems true. ;)

Peace

I do not see much of a travel. I see a player that is catching the ball with their feet moving. That does not make it a travel IMO. And if you have to look at slow motion replay to determine something, it probably is not as obvious and should not be called.

Had this discussion concerning palming in my game Saturday. Team from NYC was playing the local team. Home coach constantly asking for us to call a carry. Our halftime discussion was that none of us had seen a carry, but a couple of plays that were close. Our final analysis was that if we have to think that hard to figure out if it is or isn't a violation, then we stick with not calling it until it calls itself.
