If a coach brings in a shooter off the bench to shoot a technical free throw, whether it is before the game, before a quarter starts, or during the game...does the shooter have to stay in the game until time comes off the clock, or could they be subbed out immediately after the shots?

They can be replaced at any time, and if immediately, just not by the person they replaced.

No one (excepting, I suppose, starters) who enters the game is required to stay in the game for any length of time. This is whether the sub enters to shoot FTs, to replace an injured player, to be a defensive specialist, to get on the court during "senior night", ......

For games that begin with technical foul free throws, i.e. pregame dunking, can't a starter be replaced with the best free throw shooter on the bench?

Sure, the sub can enter to shoot.

But can a second sub enter at that point, for a different player?

Coach sends A6 in for A5 to shoot the FTs, but wants to play A6 and A7 together so he sends A7 in for A4.

Now, B wants to put in B6 to match up with A7.

Just to keep things copacetic, I would allow the second substitute (A7) in only after the ball became live with the ball at the disposal of the first technical foul free throw, i.e., let him in after first free throw is made, or missed.

Yes, because the game has now started.

And then A takes A6 back out and puts in A8 to match up with B6....

Would you wait until the ball became live, similar to teams not being allowed to be granted time outs until the jump ball to begin the game, or an overtime?

Before the first FT or after the last is how I'd do it. (That matches the NCAAW rule, but it's how I've always done it)
