You can't determine if there's a pivot foot from at this point. The player's subsequent actions will determine whether or not there's a pivot foot.

the pass discussion only talks about both feet needing to land together, it's not a travel if the player lands on his right foot only, but what if the player hops off his left foot & lands on the left foot only?

Catch or end a dribble with:

One one foot:

-If the player steps with the other foot, then the first is the pivot foot

OR

-If the player jumps off that one foot, they MUST land on both feet simultaneously, and MAY NOT pivot

Both feet in the air:

-If he lands on both feet simultaneously, he may pivot with either foot.

OR

-If he lands on one foot, then it'll be the pivot foot, IF the player steps with his other foot

OR

If he lands one one foot, he may jump off that foot. If he does so, he MUST land simultaneously. He will NOT HAVE A PIVOT.

Not sure how to make this any simpler. Ask yourself this in your scenarios. When was the dribble end or the ball caught. Then ask yourself if the player had a foot on the floor or he caught the ball in the air. After that, ask yourself if the player landed simultaneously if stated. That should answer any of your questions.

In addition to APG's information, there's also a case to the effect that "even if a pivot foot hasn't been established, it's a violation to jump and land" I think that case deals with catching a ball with both feet on the ground, but the principle applies.
