For those of you who are a part of planning or giving the instructional clinics for your associations, what are some good topics that have held the interest of your group, both the new and the experienced officials?
I have thought of two:
1. How a quarter ends.
2. Delay of game situations (warnings/resuming-play/T)
But would like some more ideas. Thanks.

We have several "stations" that the attendees rotate between at set intervals. Pre-game duties, jump ball administration, Lead, Trail, Violations, and fouls that I can remember. Most have a basic understanding of the rules so at each station the clinician will give a few pointers and open it up to discussion and questions. This is prior to the court time and evaluation period.

I'm glad somebody brought this up

I'll be helping my church train a group of referees for the upcoming season. Most of these volunteers have had some experience, but probably are not particularly well versed on the rules and modern mechanics. The level of ball is not very good, but it's an important and popular youth program for us. So we do what we can.

As a bonus, we'll be training scorekeepers and timers as well.

Any suggestions on turning such a group into a well trained crew?
