Um yeah, someone has to have something on that shot. Geno should've been T'ed earlier than what he was but the rope was probably pretty long due to the missed call.

I thought Geno should've been in the previous game when screaming across the court 'you're terrible.' Pretty sure there was an f-bomb in there too.

That's not going to be much of an excuse once the phone call comes from the observer and/or Debbie Williamson (if the crew didn't all have messages on their cells by the time they hit the locker for halftime I'd be shocked).

For at least the last three years the NCAAW officiating video has included a section on bench decorum (and yes, Geno has been prominent). Geno not getting rung up immediately when he's at the division line?

Thank you. My initial thought upon reading mj's offered excuse was, "I hope not."

He still should act like an adult.

I really hope that the thinking of the officials on that play wasn't, "well the block up above was clean so let's ignore the body contact." 90% block and 10% body I can live with. That did not fit that philosophy.

How can that not T him up immediately when he is at mid-court? And by the way, it doesn't frickin' matter who T's him up. Anyone can get him. Was it because he wasn't on their end of the floor when he exploded or because they thought they might have missed the call? Geeze, I get tired of those excuses for not calling a T.

The contact took place because you have a defender that jumped into a shooter. If anything the contact caused the block, not the other way around. I saw this last night and could not understand why it was not called. And two officials had a shot to call this and passed.

Peace

I agree completely. I was simply wondering if the reason they passed was because there was a huge block up above. Obviously the contact below was far too great to ignore ...... but it would not be the first time officials passed on a foul because the "block was big so let's ignore the contact."

Even a late whistle from the T would have been preferrable to the no-call. In the replay looking at the contact from the baseline, you can see the T and he's got a pretty good angle on this play.

A call from the T was going to be tough on this one. If the contact was more towards the middle of the lane I'd agree with you but with the play taking place clearly in the C's primary the T probably felt that was too much of a reach.

Dumb Tech.. why not just wait another 7 seconds and take your verbal shot walking to the locker room thus not giving the other team points. I like the no call. Great Block

Yeah, except when he still gets whacked and the other team starts the 2nd half with free throws...thus still giving the other team points.

Good point.. I usually see officials look to give Techs when a coach is on the way to the locker room. And one usually sees a ton of NCAA tourney games starting the 2nd half with free throws. I like the block, big blocks small player shot let it ride too many stoppages and game interruptions anyway.
