Gray officiating shirts.

I am conducting an informal poll:

I would like to know what states allow basketball officiating crews to wear the gray shirt (with the black pin stripes)?

Thanks.

Missouri does not allow it, or at least I have never heard of anyone wearing gray here.

Drizzle Mon Mar 25, 2013 06:07pm

Texas switched to gray full-time beginning with the 2011-12 season.

Vermont uses the grays. In the postseason though all officials wear the stripes.

That's it

Here in Maine, it's all we're allowed to wear.

The Land Of Steady Habits ...

Connecticut: No gray jerseys allowed. We used to wear white jerseys with black stripes, now we have to wear black jerseys with white stripes. I think that we were all tricked by IAABO into buying new jerseys. Really? What's the big difference?

What ever happened to those gray IAABO jerseys with the blue Byron collar, and blue piping on the sleeves. The looked so cool with blue pants. That's right. Blue pants. With a belt. That's right. I said it. With a belt. Wanna fight about it?

Washington: Gray/pinstripes is the official uniform shirt. Many officials prefer the black/white stripes, and (in our Association, anyway) it's informally the Referee's choice. When I'm the R, I ask my partners, since I don't care one way or the other. This year I think I wore my grays all of twice before the postseason.

The state doesn't seem to mind this until Regionals & State, when the grays are explicitly required.

In NC, grays are not allowed, they are required.

Gray is the official uni in FL.

Colorado: Grays are allowed until playoffs, then only stripes.( black on white or vice versa)...

We usually wear grays for V games in our association.

Grays allowed in NH during season but not playoffs

Nevadaref Tue Mar 26, 2013 04:42am

Not allowed in NV or northern CA.

Not everywhere. There are at least two chapters in the Houston area that only wear grey for varsity games.

I forgot about the blue stretch band on the bottom of the jersey. Proper uniform etiquette was to wear the jersey untucked.

Man. We looked cool in these. This uniform was a real chick magnet. Hot, single, Moms would wait for us outside the locker room. We were treated like rock stars. Rock stars, I tell you.

In VA we use ye ole black and white stripes.

I have seen the grays used for AAU and other leagues, but nothing scholastic related in my experience.
