Tournament Oddities
 

Couple odd/funny things I have seen:

1) Rick Petino clearly told the officials during the Louisville/CSU game to "call it both ways". I about fell out off my couch.

2) Forget which game, but saw an official call a "travel" on a throw in spot violation when the guy didn't even violate, he was just shuffling his feet. Wish I could remember this one, it would be good for discussion.

3) Illinois/Miami had several phantom fouls, with no or very little contact on replay.

4) kU/UNC saw a UNC player get clearly fouled (arm grabbed and pulled) in the process of making a shot, the official did the old half fist up and pull it back down.

I saw a lead official call a foul above the 3 point line last night. Not sure the game, I watched 4 of them.

I am not saying it wasn't a foul, just a long ways to make a call with another official in the area.

Which game is it, I'm looking for it and I don't see it.

Yep, that was the one. I watched so much basketball this weekend, they've all run together. I just remember the sheepish travel signal and thinking that wasn't a violation.
