Several "big names" shut out of this years NCAA tournament:
Name - # games worked 2012-2013 Paul Faia 69 games Tom Eades 61 games (injured) Joe DeRosa 61 games Rick Hartzell 59 games Dick Cartmell 58 games Bernard Clinton 54 games Paul Janssen 52 games Ed Hightower 46 games James Breeding 39 games (injured) |

Those are also not a lot of games based on some past numbers.
I have been seeing a lot of guys I have not seen before before the tournament started, so that is not totally surprising. Peace

Joe DeRosa officiates the Big 12 Championship and doesn't get an NCAA tournament game, that is amazing. I guess somebody doesn't like retired NBA officials officiating in the NCAA tournament. MTD, Sr.

Doubt that. I believe he worked a regional final last season.

Maybe Joe DeRosa who does not need a tournament resume to get games in future seasons decided that getting 1/3 of your regular fee for Round 1 does not cut it.

Can you shed some light on this? What type of paperwork needs to be turned in as it relates to the tournament?

And I think he is a great official. Either way someone said awhile ago, these are not "their assignments" to only have. Someone is always going to be left out for some reason.
Peace
