Clip(s): California v. UNLV

Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, given a chance to climb, they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is. |

#1. Could be common or FF1. I'd lean common but wouldn't disagree with FF1. He was clearly gonig for the ball but missed but may "held" on a little too aggressively.
#2. Common. Not excessive...the ball was right there and the shooter craftily moved it aside. Basic basketball play. #3. Illegal screen at the top of the key but not likely to be called since there was no advantage gained plus a travel in the corner in most cities.

Gave my opinion on the FF1's in the original thread. On the "travel", feet came down almost simultaneously so I see how this could be missed.

FF1, FF1, no travel.....
The first two plays are PRECISELY why we are allowed to go to the monitor. In real time, it is VERY difficult to see the contact to the face that occurred on each play. After review, these plays were correctly called. |
