The comments posted with the ESPN article for your amusement.
-------------------- Msmilie051 Get the hell out of town, Boudreaux! 1 Hour Ago uwildofcatsk78 If he is the reason why the officiating is so bad in the men's hoops, please by all means boot his $@% to the door. It's ridiculous how much money this conference makes on football and we can't afford a few good refs? The FF officiating was unbelievably bad. Somebody throw a yellow flag on the basketball court. 1 Hour Ago ukjonky Boudreaux was an AWFUL ref and it would not surprise me a bit if it were to surface the reason is how blatantly terrible SEC basketball officials have been for years, and the officiating debacle that was the ENTIRE 2013 Final Four. Greene, Shows and Hibbert are three of the worst and had no business with the assignment in the first place. Embarrassing for the conference, really. 2 Hours Ago HogCall_com The article shows up as a Basketball article. Does this affect Football too? SEC refs are notorious for favoring the higher seeded team!!! 2 Hours Ago rolltide78980 Thank The Lord. SEC refs suck 2 Hours Ago ricodeque He was parks recreation director in Lafayette LA was kinda arrogant! 2 Hours Ago stevensissweet Not necessarily referee related. Supposedly the guy was a pain to work with and the SEC higher ups didn't get along with him. 2 Hours Ago |
If I wanted to read that tripe, I'd read it on the link itself. (Written as a member, not a mod.)

Hence why I added the statement I did. I don't care from a moderator point of view that he added those, I just personally didn't care to see it on an officiating forum.
As always, feel free to address concerns regarding moderating to Brad. |

Are you making a joke, or a serious point? |
This wouldn't have even been a story on ESPN, if it wasn't for the Ed Rush situation.....
SEC just chose to go another way..... |

The reason behind Boudreax's firing is much worse - a common polarizing subject - than the Ed Rush situation.
I would like to add that the comments about moderator/member were made because most of us know the moderators are officials and members also. I have never thought, "Oh, Joe Blow made that comment as a moderator". Now, I'm not on here enough to read things that would suggest there is more to it than that so... |

But I'm sure you can also see the reason he wrote that. "If I wanted to read that tripe, I'd read it on the link itself. (Written as a member, not a mod.) " If he said that without a disclaimer, someone might think he meant it as a mod, and infer that users are not supposed to post comments from sites ... or some such. He wanted to be overly clear that this particular post was personal opinion, and not moderator-driven. I tread the same line sometimes... most of the time I'm here simply as a member. But I've deleted posts I've made when I read them back and they take on a different tone than I intended if someone read them as if coming from a moderator. |

So have you communicated your concerns, or do you just want to issue vague complaints to the internet?

A change in coordinator of officials for men's basketball in a D1 conference is always a story — especially for a big conference like the SEC. Pretty sure every change similar to this one has been reported in the past. |
Also, everyone be nice to each other! If anyone has complains about the mods, feel free to email me directly … [email protected]
Overall, I think they are doing a fantastic job. Like officiating, however, it is a thankless one with a bunch of people looking to criticize them no matter what they do. |

We're trying to strike a balance of doing everything above board, yet keeping private stuff in private. |

My info would be 2nd hand also. Funny you talk about it being too volatile to mention here. My source didn't want to put anything in an email, said he'd only tell me face-to-face. His comments were before Boudreaux fired. He said some mess was going on. He didn't say what it concerned (other than the Pac 12 story wasn't over), but his buddy is a big dawg in the SEC amongst other conferences. Had to replace my phone this week so I lost all my numbers. I'll message you on Facebook. |

Theres no transparency when it comes to people saying a particular ref is awlful. We dont see their ratings on how they go there. We nitpick at the missed/no calls, and then trash them on the board. It makes no sense to me. People just want to trash other people and not be honest.

"After considering the matter, commissioner Scott and I agree that an independent review is important to maintain the confidence of our members, and of the public, in the integrity of our competition" I consider this completely standard — seems prudent so that they can put everything behind them. |
