Serious question in a not-so-serious thread:
Are you making a joke, or a serious point?

This wouldn't have even been a story on ESPN, if it wasn't for the Ed Rush situation.....

SEC just chose to go another way.....

On an unrelated note...The SEC just hired Ed Rush and Tim Donaughy as travel secretary and committee on increased scoring

The reason behind Boudreax's firing is much worse - a common polarizing subject - than the Ed Rush situation.

I would like to add that the comments about moderator/member were made because most of us know the moderators are officials and members also. I have never thought, "Oh, Joe Blow made that comment as a moderator". Now, I'm not on here enough to read things that would suggest there is more to it than that so...

Point taken. I just didn't want it to be construed as anything other than my personal opinion.

Sure... and the majority of the time that makes sense.

But I'm sure you can also see the reason he wrote that. "If I wanted to read that tripe, I'd read it on the link itself. (Written as a member, not a mod.) "

If he said that without a disclaimer, someone might think he meant it as a mod, and infer that users are not supposed to post comments from sites ... or some such. He wanted to be overly clear that this particular post was personal opinion, and not moderator-driven.

I tread the same line sometimes... most of the time I'm here simply as a member. But I've deleted posts I've made when I read them back and they take on a different tone than I intended if someone read them as if coming from a moderator.

So have you communicated your concerns, or do you just want to issue vague complaints to the internet?

Um... what?

A change in coordinator of officials for men's basketball in a D1 conference is always a story — especially for a big conference like the SEC. Pretty sure every change similar to this one has been reported in the past.

Also, everyone be nice to each other! If anyone has complains about the mods, feel free to email me directly … [email protected]

Overall, I think they are doing a fantastic job. Like officiating, however, it is a thankless one with a bunch of people looking to criticize them no matter what they do.

....
What is the reason behind it? I've heard rumblings about some stuff happening in the upper stratosphere of Men's officiating from a close friend but he won't fill me in on the details until I see him in camp at the end of the month.

Be careful or your posts will start being deleted....just had my first ejection and I didn't even use profanity. Hardly worthy of the delete, maybe a TF. These mods are going over board

Ok, you wanted us to take everything private. We discussed it and agreed with your assessment, so I removed all the public references to the issue. Doing so, I deleted several posts from the mods (including my own) and a couple from the owner (Brad). Please feel free to contact me privately with any concerns, you'll likely get more information that way.

We're trying to strike a balance of doing everything above board, yet keeping private stuff in private.
