Ten Second Violation Question

Either set of rules:

Team A inbounds ball in backcourt and dribbler A! while still in back court approaches division line. B1 straddling division line taps ball from A1 and ball is recovered by A2 in his back court. New 10 second count?

If B1 is straddling the division line his/her status is...?

In that case, B1 is in their backcourt, then by process of elimination they must be in A's front court also so there would be a new 10 second count.

Close, but...

If B1 is straddling the division line, B1 has backcourt status relative to Team A.

Front/back court status is relative to the team in control of the ball.

No. Count keeps going. Interrupted dribble, ball still in team A possession. Ball still in backcourt.

Can only be where you've been until you get where you are going. ;)

Same count.
