End of the season soon

My HS season is over, but I still have 1 church league going. Semi finals tonight. Finals Thursday weather permitting.

Church league or HS, finals are finals. It's fun to referee the best teams in a league.

This was my 13th year refereeing. I coached for 11 years. As much as I enjoyed coaching, I do wish I would have gotten into refereeing sooner.

Only 9 month till basketball season starts again, but we still have March Madness and I have the ACIT's! Best Catholic basketball in the nation.

I'm sure there will be plenty of AAU, however, I am getting the clubs out instead!

Same as you.....

My season ends this weekend too.

My Scholastic Season ended a few weeks ago.

This weekend I have: two-Rec All-Star Games, two-Rec Playoff Games and a Championship, and then two-Men's League Playoffs.

I do have a Spring Rec League that starts in April, but, the quality of ball isn't that great.

A total of 71 games this season - it was a good year!

I have one more HS game, this Saturday night.

In the end, I'll have done 50 total dates this season -- 48 varsity and juco, 1 varsity reserve game, and 1 youth date (I did for the C-note).

I have a pair of 7th grade games Thursday, and I'm volunteering at a Special Olympics event this weekend.

Then it's time to start cracking the books for spring football and baseball.

I only consider scholastic games as part of "my season". So my season has ended and I'm quite sure I've worked fewer games than any uninjured veteran on this board.

28 BV (22 regular season/6 post-season)
2 BJV (as part of DH's)
13 Men's College

Enough games to pay off my credit cards and pay for any camps. My goal is to work 15-20 college games annually while maintaining an HS schedule that would put me at 40-45 games total.

In the off-season I'll work 1-2 weekends every month of AAU through July, a decent Pro-Am league (3-4 DHs) in the Summer, attend 2 mandatory camps, and as of now 1 try-out camp.

Just wrapped up my first year by doing 28 games. Overall it went well, with only one instance with a coach and two fans approaching us after the game. My question is..."How do I keep it going with AAU (maybe I don't qualify), tournaments, etc.?"

I worked 3 tournaments in my city, but there are bigger communities nearby and I'm sure they are running tournaments. How do I get hooked up with the off season work?

Thanks,

Depends how things are assigned where you live. Here AAU is assigned independently by 3 guys from my officiating association. You either have to get their email address from somebody or show up at the local complex and introduce yourself.

I feel the same about the season. I have two games left, both in the Sectional part of our tournament, I never consider AAU or anything other as part of my season. I do not even include games that I could do in the fall as part of the season. That is the off-season in my book.

Peace

I'm a Phillies fan. Can you adopt me in August?

I take it you got postponed last night.

Still have one more, this coming Saturday. Strange having 8 days between games. Then again, after Saturday, I'll have over 200 days between games.
