Getting off the floor
 

A lot is being made this morning about Duke coach K and his problems with UVA fans storming the court last night in Charlottsville. All this attention being put on teams security immediately after the buzzer, something officials go through every game for..well, ever. You know some officals have "traded F bombs" with a fan or two after a game on the way off floor, but at least we don't have to hang around to shake hands:rolleyes:

Maybe not, but our brethren in Massachusetts have to hang around HS games and watch them anyway.

ESPN has been playing the video of the court-storm all day, along with Coach K's comments.

Watch the video. As the crowd storms the court, you will see a line of yellow-shirted security people line the bench side of the court, shielding the crowd from the players. I watched a few other court-storm videos and did not see these same precautions being taken. If anything, Virginia did an excellent job protecting the players.

I hope that this procedure isn't contagious. Connecticut and Massachusetts are practically kissing cousins.

Never had much of a problem getting off the floor in a "court storm"....case in point: I'm C (table side); #6 team in country loses at buzzer on the road NCAA-M D3)
