Duke/VA Tech...two plays

These requests came in another thread...

Quote:
Did anyone see the block/charge play that happened around the 9 minute mark where the VT player is called for the PC?

Or about 3 minutes later on other end where VT player is called for a block?

First call I think is missed.

Second apparently is a block because of the restricted area?

That's a polite term. The defender had LGP until he RAN RIGHT AT HIM!

First call is a block for sure.

Second isn"t a RA play to me. didn't see the official signal it either. he looks to be outside the RA but just like the first play he is still moving into the offensive player and never get LGP

First call was grossly wrong.

Second call was OK.

PC was horrible. And I'm not a big fan of that particular official.

2nd call I can live with.

First play could have been avoided entirely if they would have got him stepping out of bounds on the side to start his drive.

First one was an easy block.

Second one is a bad angle. We're straightlined pretty badly on that camera shot. I can live with a block from what it shows though.

I feel the same way. Without a low-angle view of #2 it's hard to say.

You simply can not tell in the 2nd play how much the defender was moving forward. Not being able to see that, you have to accept the call as made.

Can't be an RA play -- it's not a secondary defender.
