Augusta Civic Center. A small college or two do play there, but it's primarily a multi-use building. Agree that it's a great atmosphere, although not everyone up here agrees with that....

A better arena
 

Very small college, as UMaine-Augusta is part of the USCAA, but it's really more of a municipal arena that's adjacent to the small college campus. The place is far more packed for high school tournaments. It's a good atmosphere.

For my money, though, our state's best basketball tourney location is the one they're closing this year -- the Bangor Auditorium. It's great for basketball, but horrible for everything else. The 57-year old barn is being replaced with a new arena next door. Here's a look at probably the best buzzer beater there, 2001 Class A State Championship, Deering (of Portland) vs. Bangor.
