Would You Stop Play?

A1 dribbling in the front court. Twists his ankle and goes to the ground. B1 picks up the ball and is on a breakout. A2 steals the ball and is on his own breakout. A1 is lying on the ground in the corner.

Do you stop it immediately or do you let the breakout play out?

If A1 is still lying on the floor when A gets control of the ball again by stealing it from B, I'm stopping play, regardless of what their perceived play type or scoring opportunity is.

If you think the player is really hurt or in danger of being hurt more (i.e. in the way of players under a basket, etc) you can stop play immediately when *B1* steals the ball.

Once Team A has the ball again, 100% stop play for the injured player.

Agree. B gets their fast break with an A player down. A does not get the same benefit: stop it immediately when they get possession.

If B1 is attacking the goal, let it go, once B1 sops going toward the goal, or A1 gets the ball stop play.

By rule, you should stop play when B pulls up, shoots or A regains possession. It's not really a matter of personal preference.
