Mich vs Mich st
Can someone post the PC called on Michigan early in the 2nd half? It was in the backcourt.
|
You're going to have to get more specific then that.
|
18:23, second half. Appling draws PC foul on Burke.

Here's the play...

Block on the initial shot. Undercutting a shooter like that is a great way to hurt someone.
PC after the inbounds. |

On an interesting note, the T uses the actual PC signal. |

the comment was (I think) meant to indicate that the official used the "behind the head" mechanic that was demeaned (by many, but not all)here a week or so (?) ago. |

Is it still the by the book mechanic to use the hand behind the head on PC fouls in NF?
|
Yes.

Clear undercut by the defender on the shot.
Second part is a charge at all levels except the NBA. |

A defender must allow an opponent who receives a pass outside the lower defensive box the opportunity to stop and/or change direction. |

I like how he did it though. |
Player Control. I can see the no call on the shot.
|
You gotta protect airborne shooters, especially on this play where the undercut came from behind.o
Easy PC foul. Nothing wrong with the mechanic. |

It looks like a foul on the shot, but a lot of acting too. Players tend to throw themselves out as if they were killed. But I have no problem with the PC foul at all.

Burke got away with one on the shot. That was a very clear undercut that should have been called. The officials missed that one. The charge was a very clear call as well. I actually slowed the video down and Appling was set while Burke took two steps into him. I would say that would be a charge at every level, including the NBA. Burke had time to stop. You can't penalize a defender because the offensive player wasn't looking when you give him to steps before the contact. |
