Post Game Conference

I have a partner that is much more interested in breaking down what and how the teams played their game, rather than talking about how we called the game. Any ideas as to how to change the subject to officiating?

Say: "Hey, let's talk about officiating."

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Tell him you really can't discuss how the teams played because you weren't really paying any attention to the teams. ;)

Just be direct and ask questions. Any thoughts on the game we called? Any recommendations for me? Do you believe we were consistent as a crew? Any things I can work on? What'd you think of my player control foul at 3:42? On that foul you called on 32 Blue at 5:40, what did you see there?

"I wasn't paying attention but what did you think about my PC foul in the 3rd quarter?"

the person who asks questions, controls the conversation (whether w/ your partners, wife, kids, or sales prospect).
