travel or looks funny, no one protested

This looks legal to me.

As long as she didn't drag her pivot (I have it as her right foot), looks legal.

Looks legal to me. A little awkward, maybe, but that doesn't make it a violation. I had sitch this weekend where I called a kid for a travel, and when I ended up in front of his coach at the other end of the floor, the coach said, "Did he travel, or did it just look awkward?" I told the coach that it looked awkward BECAUSE he traveled. :D I have since reviewed the video. It was a travel.

If you slow it down that much then travel...both feet shuffle but in real time I thought it just looked funny.

Where's the shuffle?

Her right foot does move a little bit...hard to tell from the camera angle if she actually picked it up and put it back down. If she was able to keep it on the floor, I agree with Tanner. Looked awkward, but legal.

Like the 3rd or 4th time he slowed it down...when he zoomed in at about the 44 second mark...it looks like both of her feet moved...right foot backward, left foot forward. But like I said in real time you couldn't see that

Looks like at 45 seconds she moves both feel, real speed it is hard to see but agreed, when slowed down it does look like a travel

There is a slight bobble/fumble when she picks up her dribble. That has to be taken into account. The T can't see that bobble but the C can. Maybe this is why the T called the travel and C left it alone? Is this not the C's call anyway?

No travel

Jay R Tue Jan 29, 2013 10:02pm

As my supervisor likes to say. If I have to rewind it and look at it three times to see the travel. Don't call it.

jeschmit Tue Jan 29, 2013 10:04pm

Ugly and awkward isn't always illegal. No travel there.

Texref Tue Jan 29, 2013 10:39pm

Nothing live, nothing on replay. I don't guess travel and if I have to slow it down that much to MAYBE see the right foot move, it's not a travel.

Use to be a warmup drill when I coached, where instead of shooting a layup, players would jump stop, step through, take off from the non pivot foot and shoot a layup. Looked perfectly legal in warmups, but every time they did in the game, everyone was screaming travel.

Legal.
