Lane Violation Signal

I'm not talking about the delayed violation signal.

I was just watching a NCAAM game and there was a lane violation. After blowing play dead, the lead pointed to the lane, signaled the number of the offending player towards the table, then (I think) made an "L" with his index finger and thumb.

Approved signal or improvisation?

The latter.

If I tried that around here, I'd have scorers recording fouls.

Three Fouls, One Lane Violation, One Three Second Violation, He's Disqualified ...

Same reason why we don't "report" three second violators here in my little corner of Connecticut.

Did he make this signal with the "L" on his forehead?
